The discovery circuit
When booking the “La Cabane” holiday home, adjoining Vanessa's, your host can offer you discovery trails to learn more about the island of Oléron and oyster farming. This discovery tour will include an aperitif at the foot of the channel, a presentation of oyster farming and many other activities. Discovering clam fishing
To fish like an Oléronais, take part in the activity offered by your host, lasting one hour and 30 minutes (from 10 years old)!
Leaving from La Cabane (bring boots to walk in the mud), depending on the tide times, Vanessa will guide you, on foot, on the foreshore and teach you to fish for clams with your finger while enjoying the panorama . You will leave with your catch and Vanessa will give you her recipes to taste it! The price for this expedition is 40 euros for the group.

Discovering oyster farming
To find out all about the oyster, emblem of our island, take a one-hour and 30-minute trip from the Cabane!
Vanessa, daughter and granddaughter of oyster farmers, will accompany you to an oyster farming site to help you discover the secrets of the Marennes-Oléron oyster and the different stages of its development, from birth to marketing. Your visit will end in an oyster hut with a glass of friendship and a tasting of Marennes-Oléron oysters.
This package, of 60 € for the group, includes a commented oyster walk, a glass of Pineau des Charentes per adult and the tasting of 2 dozen oysters (possibility of tasting more on request with a supplement of 6 € / dozen).
